One of the first things I notice and tune into is language. Especially at conferences and workshops: any time highly specialized groups / subcultures gather, a sort of code is used (for example in educational settings you would never use the world “problem” you would code-switch to “challenge” or “development opportunity” or “potential growth area” etc..). I like to note what I hear, and then think of where there might be overlap and differentiation between worlds.
