Artists in the Classroom (11-12)

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” - Pablo Picasso

Notes

The story of my life: organizing and reorganizing bookshelves.

I have this (questionable) need / desire to categorize and compartmentalize everything in my life, especially books, which I have to say I’m not buying too many of these days as it’s possible to find almost everything one needs online. However, I do buy children’s books to read in the classroom and I still have a ton of books from my credential program that I haven’t referenced yet but am still keeping around for some reason…

Every six months I go through and reshuffle my books to 1) remind myself of the resources I have 2) put everything in a different order so I can actually see it again, so it’s not like wallpaper, 3) make sure I’m surrounding myself with only the cream of the crop (from my perspective) and 4) purge the unnecessary.

This is what I’m left with.
